ننزع معاطف المطر التي نرتديها..
ونقفل مظلاتنا
نتساقط كالثلج
واحدةً .. واحده
ثماراً من النار
وعصافير من الذهب.
كالثلج.. نحن النساءً..
نرقص في الغابات
وننام في آخر الليل كالطيور فوق الاشجار
نخرج كالاطفال إلى الحديقه
كاللآليء في البحور
إمرأةً .. إمرأه
ولؤلؤةً .. لؤلؤه..
نخاف أن نذوب كالثلج
من حرارة العشق.
كالثلج.. نحن النساء..
البوادي تخرج .. والحواضر تخرج
الأغنياء يخرجون .. والفقراء يخرجون
واحدٌ يحمل بارودة صيد
وواحدٌ يحمل صنارة سمك
وواحدٌ يحمل مخدةً وسريرا..
كالثلج..نحن النساءً..
والوطن كله مستنفرٌ للهجوم على اللون الأبيض
وواحدٌ يريد أن يتزوج الثلج..
وواحدٌ يريد أن يأكله..
وواحدٌ يريد أن يأخذه لبيت الطاعه..
وواحدٌ يسحب دفتر شيكاته من جيبه
ليشتري أي لؤلؤة تسقط من السماء
كي يجعلها ديكوراً في حجرة نومه….
يسمع الثلج قرع الطبول ، وخشخشة السلاسل
ويرى بريق الخناجر ، والتماع الأنياب
يخاف الثلج على عذريته..
فيحزم حقيبته،
ويقرر أن يسقط في بلادٍ أخرى…

We shed the raincoats we don,
And fold our umbrellas tight,
We fall like snow, one by one,
Fruits of fire, birds of gold in flight.
Like snow, we women sway,
Dancing in woods, sleeping at end of day,
Like birds on branches, high and free,
We emerge like children, wild and glee.
Like pearls in oceans, we shine so bright,
A woman, a pearl, in morning light,
We fear we’ll melt like snow in love’s warm ray,
Like snow, we women, in passion’s play.
Deserts arise, cities stir and move,
Rich and poor, they all come through,
One bears a rifle, one a fishing line,
One carries pillows, bedding fine.
Like snow, we women, delicate and white,
The nation mobilizes, attacking the light,
One wants to marry snow’s pure hue,
One wants to eat it, one to subdue.
One pulls a checkbook, money to bestow,
To buy a pearl that falls, for his chambers to adorn and show,
The snow hears drums, chains jingle and clang,
Sees dagger glints, and fangs that hang.
Snow fears for its purity, oh so white,
It packs its bags, takes flight,
Decides to fall in another land, and be,
A snowflake free.
