I didn\u2019t kn. ow what was happening to me. I have never had a serious health issue in my whole life. I don\u2019t consume alcohol, don\u2019t smoke, and practice a lot of sports.<br \/>\nI decided to go to see my personal doctor at San Leandro hospital. When he saw me, he got worried thinking that it might be clouts. He immediately ordered some tests.<br \/>\nThe tests came negative. He said \u201cdon\u2019t worry, everything is okay\u201d. I asked him about the swollenness of my legs; again he replied to me in a positive way. He said: \u201cit\u2019s going to disappear little by little\u201d I said \u201cgreat, thanks doctor\u201d and went away so happy to continue with my daily routine.<br \/>\nThen, in January of 2025, my mother suffered a stroke and I had to travel to Ecuador as an emergency.<br \/>\nLuckily, my mother recovered so fast in a week or so. On the contrary, the swelling of my legs became really alarming.<br \/>\nA saw a doctor in my hometown. After seeing me, this doctor became so worried and he thought I must have a kidney problem.<br \/>\nHe recommended me to see a doctor in a great hospital in Cuenca.<br \/>\nThis doctor after the right tests diagnosed me with kidney problems. He told me, your kidneys are working about 75%.<br \/>\nHe gave me a lot of medications. I have never put into my system such amount of medicines before. Also, he told me to perform a biopsy. I replied him, \u201cI am going back to the US, I will see my doctor, and my insurance will pay for everything\u201d.<br \/>\nAfter getting back to the US, I went straight to see my doctor. After telling him what happened. He really didn\u2019t believe that a doctor from a Third World Country could give a better diagnose than him. I could read his body language.<br \/>\nHe didn\u2019t want to send me straight to see a kidney specialist. He ordered some blood tests. After couple weeks, I went back to see him. According to him, the results came negative. He told me, \u201cyou don\u2019t have any kidney problems\u201d. I was so excited to hear about it. I asked him, \u201cdoctor, should I discontinue the medication that I was given in Ecuador\u201d? He replied, \u201cabsolutely, you have nothing to worry about\u201d.<br \/>\nFrom january to July, I was having blood tests periodically; and according to my doctor everything was right.<br \/>\nBut my lower leg kept a small swelling. I asked him why. Again, he replied me, it\u2019s nothing, plus your age can be the cause.<br \/>\nI came to Ecuador last August, and after two weeks, my whole body got swollen.
